San Augustine Methodist Church began in 1837 as the first missionary congregation of the Methodist Church east of the Sabine River in what was then the foreign nation of Texas.

We aim to continue that outward-reaching missionary zeal into the present day as the story of this great Methodist congregation continues forward through the ages.
